Marvel Studios’ teaser trailers for Avengers: Doomsday have crossed 1 billion combined views worldwide. Insiders say the four teasers have reached around 1.02 billion views, a major milestone achieved without support from a TV broadcast event.

Marvel began the campaign in mid-December with an unusual move. The first teaser was released only in theaters, playing in front of Avatar: Fire & Ash. It focused on Chris Evans’ Steve Rogers and arrived online five days later.

Three more teasers followed on a weekly basis. These included spots featuring Thor and the X-Men, and a final teaser centered on Black Panther’s Shuri and M’Baku, who meet Ben Grimm from the Fantastic Four.

Despite early pirated recordings appearing online, interest remained strong. Insiders say social media engagement for each teaser was 188 percent higher than a typical Marvel release. The teasers also broke Marvel records on Instagram (505 million views) and TikTok (103 million views).

The campaign sparked major online discussion, creating 16 organic trending topics on X, including “Doomsday,” “Steve Rogers,” “Thor,” “X-Men,” and “Wakanda.”

The numbers stand out when compared to past releases. Deadpool & Wolverine reached 365 million views in 24 hours, boosted by a Super Bowl broadcast. Fantastic Four: First Steps earned 202 million views in 24 hours with a large media event. Doomsday achieved its total without those advantages.

Avengers: Doomsday is set to release on December 18, 2026, followed by Avengers: Secret Wars in 2027. Both films mark the return of directors Joe and Anthony Russo and bring Robert Downey Jr. back to the Marvel universe as Doctor Doom, though he has not appeared in the teasers.

Marvel executives see the teaser rollout as part of a larger story. Joe Russo recently said each teaser adds narrative detail, suggesting that “Doomsday has already started” for fans.
