SYBO Games has officially announced that Subway Surfers City will launch globally on February 26, 2026. This marks the first major evolution of the hit 2012 game, which has crossed 4.5 billion downloads.
Unlike the original World Tour format, which visited a new real-world city each month, the game takes place in Subway City, a large fictional metropolis. Players can explore four districts at launch: The Docks, Southline, Sunrise Blvd, and Delorean Park.
The game introduces new gameplay modes. Classic Endless returns for high-score chases. City Tour is a level-based mode with specific goals and hidden “Secret Stars.” Events are time-limited trials for high-skill players.
Time to gear up. 🏙️

New moves include a “stomp” to uncover hidden items and speed pads to boost velocity. Players can also upgrade both Surfers and Boards with abilities and power-ups, creating builds to match their playstyle.
The trailer has sparked nostalgia online, with fans comparing the long-awaited sequel to GTA 6. Many are jokingly calling it “Subway Surfers 2” or the “GTA for the iPad generation.”
Pre-registration is now live on the App Store and Google Play. Early players will unlock an exclusive Subway City outfit for Jake and a limited-edition hoverboard. SYBO confirmed that the game will support full offline play, keeping the original’s travel-friendly appeal.
With major releases in music and F1 also on the horizon, February 2026 is shaping up to be a huge month for pop culture. Subway Surfers City promises to be a major highlight for mobile gamers.
