Apple’s upcoming iPhone 18 series could bring the biggest design change in nearly a decade, according to a new leak. Established leaker Digital Chat Station says the iPhone 18 Pro and iPhone 18 Pro Max have entered “sample production.”

The leak suggests that while the base iPhone 18 and iPhone Air 2 will keep the Dynamic Island display, the Pro models will adopt a punch-hole selfie camera and under-display Face ID sensors. This would mark a departure from the notch that has been on iPhones since the iPhone X in 2017.

All four expected models—iPhone 18, iPhone 18 Pro, iPhone 18 Pro Max, and iPhone Air 2—will keep 120Hz LTPO displays. Screen sizes are reported to remain similar to the iPhone 17 lineup, ranging from 6.27 inches to 6.86 inches.

The rumored changes suggest a more modern front design for the Pro models, with the display potentially covering almost the entire front of the phone. Leaks also indicate that Apple may keep the standard iPhone 18 and Air 2 closer to existing designs.

Industry insiders say this redesign could set the stage for the iPhone 20 next year, expected to feature a fully notchless screen. Apple typically launches its iPhones in September, so official confirmation of these design changes will likely come then.

The leak confirms that Apple is experimenting with new display technology for the Pro models, potentially making the front camera and Face ID less obtrusive while keeping advanced security features.

Fans and analysts are watching closely, as this could be the most noticeable iPhone redesign since the X, combining sleek aesthetics with improved front-facing camera technology.

This development reinforces Apple’s ongoing focus on refined displays and premium design as a key selling point for its flagship devices.
