Netflix Documentary Reignites Diddy–50 Cent Rivalry

A new Netflix documentary produced by Curtis “50 Cent” Jackson has brought renewed attention to his long-standing feud with Sean “Diddy” Combs.

The tension between the two hip-hop moguls dates back nearly 20 years, beginning after 50 Cent collaborated with Combs on tracks from the Notorious B.I.G.’s posthumous 1999 album Born Again.

Disagreements over signing artists, including Mase, and accusations in 50 Cent’s lyrics added to the strain. 50 Cent has also accused Combs of knowing details about the deaths of Tupac Shakur and Biggie, claims that Combs has consistently denied.

Over the years, their feud has included public criticism of each other’s music, brands, and business decisions. 50 Cent recently produced the Netflix documentary Sean Combs: The Reckoning, which covers Combs’ legal and personal controversies, including his 2025 conviction for two counts of transportation to engage in prostitution. Combs is serving a four-year sentence at Fort Dix prison in New Jersey.

Despite the ongoing disputes, there have been moments of unusual gestures, including reports that Combs sent flowers to 50 Cent at a Miami club performance. The documentary release has drawn criticism from Combs’ representatives, who called it a “shameful hit piece” and noted Netflix used unauthorised footage.

The feud, spanning multiple decades, highlights both personal and professional tensions between two of hip-hop’s biggest figures.
