Rising Latin Singer DELAROSA Fatally Shot in Ambush

Rising Latin Singer DELAROSA

Aspiring Latin singer Maria De La Rosa, known professionally as DELAROSA, was shot and killed in an ambush-style attack in Northridge early Saturday morning, authorities confirmed.

The 22-year-old artist was one of three people in a parked car when two unidentified male suspects approached on foot and opened fire, investigators said. The incident occurred around 1:25 a.m. on November 23 in the 11800 block of Bryant Street.

De La Rosa sustained multiple gunshot wounds and was rushed to a nearby hospital, where she was pronounced dead shortly after arrival. The two other occupants of the vehicle were also injured but survived.

The Los Angeles Police Department (LAPD) is investigating the murder as a brazen and targeted attack. No arrests have been made, and a motive remains unclear.

“We are working tirelessly to identify and apprehend those responsible,” said LAPD spokesperson Officer Taylor Chapman. Detectives are urging anyone with information to come forward. Crime Stoppers is offering a reward of up to $50,000 for tips leading to an arrest.

De La Rosa, a talent from the San Fernando Valley, was quickly gaining recognition in the Latin music community. She had released her debut single, “No Me Llames,” in August 2025. The song, which blends reggaeton rhythms with personal lyrics, had already garnered thousands of streams on platforms like Spotify and TikTok.

Friends and industry insiders expressed shock over the loss of a star who was widely seen as a promising voice for the next generation. Tributes have poured in on social media, mourning a “shining light” and calling for justice.

A vigil is planned for Friday evening at the shooting site as community leaders rally for increased resources to combat gun violence in the area.

Anyone with information is asked to contact LAPD’s Valley Bureau Homicide at (818) 374-9470 or leave an anonymous tip with Crime Stoppers at (800) 222-TIPS (8477).
