Rumours have emerged suggesting that Rockstar Games’ Grand Theft Auto 6 may not launch in May 2026 as planned. Some insiders speculate a possible delay to October 2026.

GTA 6 was first announced in December 2023, and its release has been highly anticipated. Originally scheduled for 2025, Rockstar later confirmed the game would launch on 26 May 2026.

However, recent comments from industry insider Tom Henderson have sparked speculation about another potential delay. Henderson said in early September that “all the rumblings… don’t seem to suggest” a May release and personally believes the game could arrive in October.

While Henderson has a strong track record for gaming leaks, his predictions are not confirmed facts. He emphasizes that this is based on his gut feeling rather than official information.

Take-Two Interactive CEO Strauss Zelnick, whose company owns Rockstar, remains confident the game will meet the announced release date.

Speaking to CNBC in May, Zelnick said, “Generally, when we announce a certain date, we’re able to hit that date,” citing the successful launches of Red Dead Redemption 2 and Grand Theft Auto 5 as examples.

With about eight months until the scheduled launch, it is likely too early for Rockstar to decide on any changes. If a delay occurs, it would probably be announced closer to the release date.

Fans will need to wait for official updates to know if GTA 6 will arrive on time.
