Apple Brings Playlist Folders to iOS 26 Music App

Apple Music Playlist Folders

Apple’s iOS 26 update introduces a new feature in the Music app that was previously exclusive to the Mac: playlist folder creation.

Users can now create folders and organize their playlists directly on iPhone and iPad, a capability that had long been limited to macOS.

Previously, the Mac’s Music app, formerly iTunes, allowed users to create playlist folders, which would sync to other devices. However, iOS users could not create or edit these folders until the latest update.

iOS 26 now lets users move playlists between folders and manage them entirely from their mobile devices.

This update aligns with Apple’s broader efforts to unify features across platforms, alongside the new Liquid Glass design and other cross-platform improvements.

Music fans can now enjoy better organization of their libraries on iOS, without needing to access a Mac.
