Arsenal Beat Spurs to £67.5m Eze Deal in Transfer Shock

Arsenal have reached an agreement worth up to £67.5 million to sign Crystal Palace forward Eberechi Eze, completing one of the most dramatic transfer twists of the summer window. The deal includes £60 million guaranteed and a further £7.5 million in potential add-ons.

Tottenham Hotspur believed they were close to finalising Eze’s signing after reaching terms with both Palace and the player, but Arsenal stepped in late following a knee injury to Kai Havertz. The Gunners quickly reignited their interest and outbid their north London rivals to secure the 26-year-old.

Eze, who grew up as an Arsenal supporter and spent time in the club’s academy as a youngster, is set to undergo a medical before completing the move. His signing represents a significant boost for Mikel Arteta’s side as they aim to strengthen their title challenge with added attacking depth.

For Spurs, the collapse of the deal is a setback that leaves them searching for alternatives before the transfer deadline, adding to frustrations among fans over the club’s transfer strategy.
