Charli XCX has officially closed the chapter on her Brat era with a final performance in South Korea, while teasing her next creative project — a film titled The Moment.
The 33-year-old pop star delivered her last headlining show for the album at the One Universe Festival in Gwacheon-si on Friday (15 August). A message displayed on a large screen during the concert read: “Please don’t let it be over,” marking the end of the album cycle.
Shortly after the performance, Charli shared an Instagram post showing the moment and a teaser clip featuring a film slate for The Moment. The project, produced by A24, is based on an original concept by the singer herself.
The farewell comes after the success of Brat, Charli’s sixth studio album, which peaked at No. 3 on the Billboard 200 — her highest chart position to date. Released in summer 2024, the record gained attention for its club-ready sound, viral lime-green cover, and unexpected influence on the U.S. presidential race.
Beyond music, Charli is expanding into film. Alongside The Moment, she is set to appear in several upcoming productions, including a horror film with Japanese director Takashi Miike, the erotic thriller I Want Your Sex with Olivia Wilde and Cooper Hoffman, and the satirical drama Sacrifice alongside Chris Evans and Anya Taylor-Joy. She will also feature in a fantasy adaptation of 100 Nights of Hero.
The show also marked another milestone in her personal life. Just last month, Charli married The 1975’s drummer George Daniel in a small ceremony at London’s Hackney Town Hall. The pair had announced their engagement in July 2023.
With Brat now behind her, Charli appears set to focus on her expanding career in film while maintaining her place as one of pop music’s most influential figures.
