Jason Momoa - Chief of War - Apple TV+

Jason Momoa’s post-apocalyptic series See is gaining new popularity on Apple TV+ just before the debut of his upcoming show Chief of War on August 1, 2025.

See, which aired from 2019 to 2022, is now ranked number 8 on Apple TV+’s global streaming charts, surpassing shows like Murderbot and Silo. The sci-fi drama features Momoa as Baba Voss, a warlord protecting his family in a future where humans have lost the ability to see.

Created by Peaky Blinders writer Steven Knight, the series received increasingly positive reviews over its three seasons.

The renewed interest in See is likely due to anticipation for Chief of War, where Momoa stars as the legendary Hawaiian warrior Ka’iana. Momoa also serves as co-creator, writer, and director of the new show, which promises action and drama grounded in real history.

While See initially received mixed reviews, it has earned praise for its unique story and strong characters. Popular episodes like “Rock-a-Bye” and “Fresh Blood” hold high IMDb ratings.

This resurgence shows Apple TV+ as a strong platform for Momoa’s projects and builds excitement for Chief of War. Whether See will maintain its popularity after the new series premieres remains to be seen, but the current interest is a positive sign for Momoa’s growing presence on the streaming service.
