Kelly Osbourne has shared her first public message following the death of her father, rock legend Ozzy Osbourne, using a line from one of their most personal songs together to express her grief.

In a post shared on social media, Kelly quoted the lyrics of “Changes”, a 1972 Black Sabbath ballad, writing:

“I feel unhappy, I am so sad. I’ve lost the best friend I ever had,”

The song, originally inspired by Black Sabbath drummer Bill Ward’s separation from his wife, holds special meaning for Kelly. In 2003, she recorded a duet version of “Changes” with Ozzy, which became her first UK No. 1 single. The pair also performed the emotional ballad together onstage multiple times over the years.

Ozzy Osbourne passed away on Tuesday, July 22, at the age of 76. He died peacefully at his home in England, surrounded by his wife Sharon and their children, including Kelly.

Shortly before his death, Kelly posted what may be the final public video of her father. In a clip shared to her Instagram Story on Sunday, Ozzy is seen smiling and eating breakfast with his family while scrolling on his iPad, appearing cheerful and relaxed.

The tribute from Kelly adds to the growing wave of public messages and memorials for the former Black Sabbath frontman, who is widely credited with helping to create and define the heavy metal genre.
