PeakDo has introduced the LinkPower 1, a $119 power bank designed specifically to enhance the portability of SpaceX’s Starlink Mini satellite internet device. This new battery pack attaches directly to the back of the Starlink Mini, providing more than four and a half hours of continuous internet access without the need for cables or fixed power sources.
The LinkPower 1 uses a 99Wh battery and connects to the Starlink Mini via a DC barrel connector. It also features a USB-C port capable of charging phones or powering the dish while simultaneously recharging from external sources such as car chargers, solar panels, or portable power stations. This makes it ideal for remote users like digital nomads, campers, and travelers who require reliable internet away from traditional power outlets.
Users can monitor battery levels through an integrated display, and a Bluetooth-enabled web app allows for remote control and scheduling of power functions. However, iPhone users need a special browser to access some of these features.
In performance tests, the LinkPower consistently delivered over 4 hours and 30 minutes of internet use, an improvement compared to previous power banks. Recent firmware updates to the Starlink Mini may have contributed to increased power efficiency.
The device carries an IPX4 rating, meaning it is splash-resistant but not fully dustproof or waterproof, so it is best used under shelter or inside vehicles rather than exposed to harsh outdoor conditions.
Though priced higher than some other 99Wh power banks, PeakDo’s custom design and ease of use offer significant convenience. The LinkPower adds just 645 grams to the Starlink Mini’s weight, maintaining the device’s portability.
By combining the Starlink Mini with the LinkPower battery, users gain a self-contained internet solution that can be set up quickly in remote locations without cumbersome cables or special gear. This development expands the usability of satellite internet for those needing connectivity in off-grid environments.
