The chemical analysis of late actor Humaira Asghar Ali, who was found dead in her Karachi apartment under mysterious circumstances, has confirmed that no drugs or toxic substances were present in her body. The report was disclosed on Friday.
Tests were conducted on samples from Asghar’s lungs, liver, and hair, with all results showing no signs of intoxicants or poisons. This chemical report is a significant development in the ongoing investigation into her death.
DIG South Asad Raza confirmed that the findings have been shared with multiple investigative agencies. He stated that police are still probing several angles to understand how and why the actress died.
Body Discovered After Eight Months
Humaira Asghar’s decomposed body was discovered on July 8, 2025, inside her apartment in Karachi’s DHA Phase VI area. A court bailiff, acting on the landlord’s request due to unpaid rent, forced entry into the flat and found her remains.
The initial post-mortem suggested the actress had been dead for nearly eight months, with forensic experts estimating her time of death around October 7, 2024. Neighbours reported noticing a foul smell from the apartment starting in December 2024.
Clues from the Scene
Investigators found several personal items at the scene, including three mobile phones, a tablet, a diary, and various documents. All three SIM cards registered to her name were active at the time of discovery. Forensic experts found that two of the phones were not password-protected.
Digital analysis revealed that Asghar had over 2,000 contacts saved on her devices. On the day of her suspected death, she reportedly contacted 14 different individuals and regularly communicated with at least 75 people over a longer period.
Authorities also recovered clothing from the bathroom and laundry area, suggesting she may have been doing household chores before her death. Her body was found in a room adjacent to the bedroom, and the flat’s main entrance was double-locked from the inside, police said. The balcony door was open when her remains were discovered.
Investigators continue to examine the case to determine the exact cause and circumstances of Humaira Asghar’s death.
