Rockstar Games may have accidentally revealed plans for a Grand Theft Auto IV remaster, sparking excitement among fans. A recent update to the company’s official support page briefly listed PlayStation 4 as one of GTA IV’s platforms, despite the game originally launching for PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 back in 2008.

The discovery was first reported by Reddit user ‘deVonY7’, who spotted the unexpected listing on Rockstar’s website. The mention was later removed, but not before fans began speculating about a possible remaster.

Currently, GTA IV is playable on modern Xbox consoles through Microsoft’s backwards compatibility program. However, PlayStation users do not have access to GTA IV unless Rockstar re-releases or remasters the title for PS4 or PS5.

For years, GTA IV has been one of the most requested Rockstar games for a modern re-release, alongside other titles like Red Dead Redemption. The recent remaster of Red Dead Redemption 1 has fueled hopes that GTA IV could receive similar treatment.

It remains unclear whether the brief mention of PS4 support was a mistake or an early sign of a planned announcement. With Grand Theft Auto VI delayed beyond 2025, Rockstar might see this as an opportunity to bring back one of its classic titles to keep fans engaged.

For now, Rockstar has not made any official announcement regarding a GTA IV remaster. Fans will have to wait for further updates to know if the beloved 2008 game will make its return on current-generation consoles.
