Metro Boomin Breaks from Future and 21 Savage for New Artist Mixtape, Reveals Release Date

Producer Metro Boomin will release a new mixtape titled “A Futuristic Summa” on July 22, featuring an entirely new cast of collaborators instead of his usual partners.

The 20-track project, hosted by DJ Spinz, marks a departure from Metro’s typical work with artists like Future, 21 Savage and NAV. The producer has promised to showcase fresh talent in what he describes as a new creative direction.

The mixtape was officially announced on July 10 through a billboard campaign in partnership with Spotify’s RapCaviar, followed by confirmation on Metro Boomin’s social media channels. The rollout began with the release of lead single “Slide,” featuring rapper Roscoe Dash.

This project comes as Metro Boomin continues his work with established artists including The Weeknd, NAV, Playboi Carti and Young Thug on separate projects. The producer has been balancing these various collaborations while developing the new mixtape.

The announcement has generated significant anticipation among hip-hop fans eager to hear Metro’s exploration of new sounds and partnerships. The producer’s decision to work with unknown or lesser-known artists represents a notable shift from his recent high-profile collaborations.

Metro Boomin has become one of hip-hop’s most sought-after producers, known for his work on numerous chart-topping hits. “A Futuristic Summa” will test whether his production style can elevate new talent in the competitive hip-hop landscape.
