Samsung has officially confirmed that its Galaxy AI tools will remain free for users, despite ongoing speculation about potential subscription fees.
The company recently rolled out new Galaxy AI features as part of its One UI 8 update, starting with its latest foldable devices—the Galaxy Z Fold 7, Flip 7, and Flip 7 FE.
These updates include AI-powered photo editing, such as the Object Eraser in the Gallery app, and new Audio Eraser tools that help clean up sound in Samsung Notes, call transcripts, videos, and voice recordings.
Since the launch of the Galaxy S24 series last year, Samsung has been expanding its AI offerings, bringing new tools and improvements to more Galaxy devices.
With the debut of One UI 8 and Android 16 features, some users speculated that Samsung might begin charging for advanced AI capabilities, following a trend set by other tech companies like Google.
However, Samsung has confirmed that it has no plans to introduce fees for Galaxy AI tools at this time. While the company admitted that there have been internal discussions about possible monetization in the future, a spokesperson stated that the AI features will remain free, at least for now.
By keeping Galaxy AI tools accessible without extra cost, Samsung could strengthen its position in the competitive smartphone market, attracting customers who want advanced AI features without having to pay additional fees.
