Black Clover is officially returning with a brand-new anime series, as revealed during Crunchyroll’s industry panel at Anime Expo 2025. The upcoming series will once again be produced by Studio Pierrot, the same animation studio behind the original adaptation.
A teaser visual and trailer were released to accompany the announcement, sparking excitement among fans. However, details such as the release date, voice cast, and production staff have not yet been revealed.
Crunchyroll confirmed it will stream the new Black Clover anime when it premieres.
The original Black Clover manga by Yūki Tabata began serialization in Weekly Shonen Jump in February 2015 before moving to Jump Giga in December 2023. To date, 36 volumes have been published in Japan.
The first anime adaptation aired from October 2017 to March 2021 and ran for 170 episodes. It was directed by Tatsuya Yoshihara and became a fan favorite for its mix of intense battles, strong friendships, and magical world-building. A film, Black Clover: Sword of the Wizard King, premiered in Japan in March 2023.
Crunchyroll currently streams the original series and describes it as a story set in a world where magic is everything. The tale follows Asta, a boy born without magic, and his rival Yuno, as they strive to become the Wizard King.
Fans can expect more information about the new series in the coming months.
