Entertainment writers are suggesting that the villain Mephisto could play a key role in the upcoming Spider-Man film “Brand New Day“, scheduled for release in July 2026.
The speculation follows the recent appearance of Mephisto in the Disney+ series “Ironheart“, where the character makes deals with people seeking help. In the show, Mephisto offers to bring back a character’s deceased friend in exchange for something they “won’t miss”.
Writers suggest this could create a storyline where Peter Parker, who lost his Aunt May and saw his friends forget his identity at the end of “Spider-Man: No Way Home”, might be tempted by a similar deal. The character finds himself completely alone after the events of the previous film.

This would mirror a storyline from Marvel Comics called “One More Day”, where Spider-Man makes a deal with Mephisto to save Aunt May’s life, though at great personal cost.
The speculation also suggests that Riri Williams, the main character from “Ironheart”, could appear in the Spider-Man film. Both characters have connections to Tony Stark and could potentially work together against Mephisto.
However, Marvel Studios has not officially confirmed Mephisto’s appearance in “Brand New Day” or any plot details for the film. The movie is expected to also feature the Punisher character, though his exact role remains unclear.
“Spider-Man: Brand New Day” is currently scheduled for release on 31 July 2026.
