In a major move, Sony is bringing its popular co-op shooter Helldivers 2 to Xbox. The game will release on August 26, 2025, for Xbox Series X and S, priced at $39.99. This marks the first time a PlayStation-published title is launching on Xbox.
Originally released in early 2023 for PlayStation 5 and PC, Helldivers 2 quickly gained a strong fan base, especially on Steam. It was praised for its fun, chaotic gameplay and creative mission design. Players team up to battle alien threats using a mix of strategy, firepower, and teamwork.
The Xbox version will support cross-play with all platforms, allowing players to join missions together regardless of their system. Unlike the PC release, there’s no mention of a PlayStation Network (PSN) login being required for Xbox users.
