Scooter Braun Leaves HYBE CEO Position After Five Years

Music executive Scooter Braun is stepping down as CEO of HYBE America, the powerhouse behind K-pop superstars BTS. Braun will remain with the company in a new position as a senior adviser and board member.

Braun, who joined HYBE when the company acquired his Ithaca Holdings in 2021, announced his transition during a call with staff, saying the change has been planned for some time. After five years as CEO, he will continue to work closely with HYBE and guide new projects, including the girl group Katseye.

During his career, Braun managed artists like Justin Bieber, Ariana Grande, and Demi Lovato. In 2024, he stepped away from artist management. His departure from the CEO role follows a business break with Bieber, whose tour losses led to financial disputes. Sources say Braun and Bieber have now fully settled their issues, closing that chapter for good.

Isaac Lee, formerly the head of HYBE Latin America, will take over as chairman and CEO of HYBE Americas. He will be responsible for HYBE’s operations across the U.S., Mexico, and Latin America, including several major music labels.

HYBE chairman Bang Si-Hyuk praised Braun’s leadership, calling him an “extraordinary partner” and a key part of HYBE’s growth in the global market. Braun remains one of HYBE’s biggest shareholders and says he is proud of what the company has achieved.

As HYBE moves forward under new leadership, Braun will continue to advise the company while exploring new ventures in the industry.
