A teaser trailer for Christopher Nolan’s new film, “The Odyssey,” has leaked online. The trailer was first shown exclusively in theaters.
The film is an adaptation of Homer’s classic epic poem. It follows the story of Odysseus, the King of Ithaca. He faces a long and dangerous journey to return home after the Trojan War.
Star-Studded Cast Leads the Epic
Matt Damon stars as Odysseus. Tom Holland plays his son, Telemachus. Jon Bernthal appears as King Menelaus. The large cast also includes stars like Zendaya, Lupita Nyong’o, and Robert Pattinson.
Teaser Hints at a Dangerous Journey
The trailer begins with a dark ocean scene. A voiceover talks about a broken law and a kingdom without a king.
The teaser shows King Menelaus discussing rumors about Odysseus. Some believe Odysseus is dead or in prison. But Menelaus says no prison could hold a man like Odysseus. The footage also shows the famous Trojan Horse and hints at mythical creatures like the Cyclops and the Sirens.
A Groundbreaking Production
Christopher Nolan wrote and directed the film. “The Odyssey” is the first major movie to be shot entirely with IMAX cameras. The story explores themes of bravery, loyalty, and cleverness.
The film is set to release in theaters on July 17, 2026. The teaser first played in cinemas with screenings of “Jurassic World Rebirth” to build early excitement.
