Justin Bieber has made a major change to his social media presence by switching his Instagram username from his full name to @lilbieber.
The 31-year-old singer made the change on Thursday, June 26, while posting a series of Instagram photos featuring his baby son Jack Blues.
The Username Switch
Previously, Bieber’s Instagram handle was his full name. He hasn’t announced the name change or explained why he made the switch.
The change happened as Bieber posted 12 Instagram photos on Thursday. His tenth post included adorable snapshots of playtime with his son Jack.
Father-Son Bonding Photos
The photos show Bieber and Jack enjoying play time together. Jack sits in a cardboard box filled with colorful ball pit balls while his father watches nearby.
Bieber and wife Hailey Bieber welcomed Jack in August 2024. The singer captioned the sweet photos with simple emojis: “🧍♂️🧍♂️🧍♂️.”
Recent Family Sharing
This isn’t the first time Bieber has shared photos of his son recently. He posted several Jack photos this month, including:
- A black-and-white photo on June 24
- A Father’s Day photo of Jack and Hailey at the piano on June 15
- A photo of himself holding Jack at home on June 13
Cryptic Social Media Posts
While Bieber shares happy family moments, he’s also posted cryptic content in recent months.
On June 11, he shared a black-and-white selfie with the caption: “The secret in life is forgiveness.” That same day, he posted six blurry selfies showing various poses.
Personal Struggles Revealed
On Father’s Day, Bieber shared screenshots of text messages with a friend before cutting them off. The messages revealed his struggles with trauma and anger issues.
“I would never suppress my emotions for someone. Conflict is a part of relationship. If you don’t like my anger, you don’t like me,” Bieber wrote.
He added: “My anger is a response to pain I have been thru. Asking a traumatized person not to be traumatized is simply mean.”
Addressing Criticism
The next day, Bieber responded to people telling him to “heal” from his issues.
“Don’t you think if I could have fixed myself, I would have already? I know I’m broken. I know I have anger issues,” he wrote.
He continued: “I tried to do the work my whole life to be like the people who told me I needed to be fixed like them. And it just keeps making me more tired and more angry.”
The username change to @lilbieber comes during a period where Bieber balances sharing joyful family moments with opening up about personal struggles.
