MrBeast, the most subscribed YouTuber in the world, recently launched an AI-powered thumbnail generator through his platform, Viewstats Pro. The tool was designed to help small creators make better thumbnails using artificial intelligence.
However, the tool quickly faced strong criticism. Many creators and artists said the AI copied their work without permission. Popular YouTuber Jacksepticeye was among the voices speaking out against it.
In response, MrBeast, whose real name is Jimmy Donaldson, removed the AI tool just one week after its release. He posted a video apology, saying he “missed the mark” and listened to the feedback from the community.
Instead of using AI, Viewstats Pro now offers a new feature that lets users hire real thumbnail artists. Creators can browse artist portfolios and pay them directly for custom work. MrBeast said this change supports artists and helps them earn from their skills.
He also confirmed that there is no longer any AI thumbnail tool on the platform. He added that he already spends more money on thumbnail artists than probably the top 100 YouTubers combined. MrBeast hopes this change will turn a negative moment into a positive one for the creator community.
