Android 16 QPR1 2.1 Beta Is Out Now — Here’s How to Get It on Your Pixel

Google has released the latest Android 16 QPR1 Beta 2.1 update for Pixel phones. The update is small but brings important bug fixes and includes the June security patch that was missing from earlier versions.

Although this is not a major update, it does improve stability and performance. It also includes early parts of Google’s new Material 3 Expressive design, giving Pixel phones a fresher look with a redesigned Settings menu, Quick Settings, and improved multitasking layout.

  • Fix for invisible “Approve” button in Device Admin settings
  • Fix for lock screen sound toggle issue
  • Fix for Android back button not working at times
  • Fix for launcher crash when swiping up from the bottom

Some elements of Material 3 Expressive are already active in this update. These include:

  • A refreshed Quick Settings panel
  • Brighter, more animated notifications

📲 How to Install Android 16 QPR1 2.1 on Your Pixel:

If your Pixel was already running the last QPR1 beta, just check for updates:

  1. Go to Settings > System > System Update
  2. The new update should begin downloading

If you’re new to the Android Beta Program, here’s how to join:

  1. Go to the Android Beta website
  2. Log in with your Google account
  3. Scroll to “Your eligible devices”
  4. Tap + Opt in under your Pixel model
  5. Accept the terms and confirm enrollment
  6. Check for updates on your Pixel as described above
