Pakistan Secretly Building Nuclear Missile That Can Hit US Mainland

Missiles

US intelligence agencies found that Pakistan is secretly building a nuclear missile that can hit the United States. This missile can travel over 5,500 kilometers and reach targets across America.

The discovery marks a major change for Pakistan. The country previously focused on shorter missiles aimed at India. Now Pakistan wants weapons that can strike much farther targets.

China Helps Pakistan Build Missile

US officials believe China is helping Pakistan develop this weapon. The program grew stronger after India’s Operation Sindoor in May 2025. China’s support helps Pakistan upgrade its nuclear weapons.

US Will Treat Pakistan as Enemy

American officials warned they will call Pakistan a nuclear enemy if the missile succeeds. This puts Pakistan in the same group as Russia, China, and North Korea. No US ally currently has missiles that can hit America.

This would be a huge policy change. The US has never called a friendly country a nuclear threat before.

Why Pakistan Wants This Missile

Pakistan has two main goals with this weapon. First, it wants to stop the US from helping India in future wars. Second, it wants to prevent American attacks on Pakistan’s nuclear weapons.

Pakistan’s Response

Pakistan’s government has not confirmed or denied building this missile. Pakistani officials say their weapons are only for defense and regional peace.

What This Means

The missile program changes global security. It could hurt US-Pakistan relations and complicate American strategy in South Asia. The development also raises concerns about more countries getting long-range nuclear weapons.

Foreign Affairs magazine first reported details about Pakistan’s secret program. The intelligence shows Pakistan is moving beyond regional threats to global capabilities.
