Channing Tatum is no stranger to baring it all on screen, but even he had second thoughts about his latest nude scene — an action sequence in a toy store.
In Roofman, Tatum plays real-life escaped convict Jeffrey Manchester, who famously lived inside a Toys “R” Us for six months after breaking out of prison.
The Derek Cianfrance-directed film, hitting theaters October 10, features one particularly daring scene: Tatum, completely nude, tries to flee after being startled while showering inside the toy store.
“I’ve been really butt naked in front of a lot of people on a lot of different sets,” Tatum told Entertainment Weekly. “But doing an action scene naked? That was new. I was like, ‘Guys, we’re going to see everything.’”
The wild moment is briefly teased in the official trailer, and while post-production editing is expected to keep things TV-safe, Tatum joked, “There was one shot where you just get right down the barrel… I don’t know if you can even air this.”
Despite his nerves, the actor admitted filming the scene was “funny and fun,” calling it the kind of absurd moment that feels like “everyone’s worst nightmare” — being naked at work and chased through a Toys “R” Us.
