BTS member Suga has donated $3.6 million to create a new autism treatment center in Seoul. The center will help young people with autism receive better care and treatment.

The center is called the Min Yoon-gi Centre, using Suga’s real name. It will open on the first floor of Severance Hospital’s Sinchon branch. The hospital announced the donation on June 23, just two days after Suga finished his mandatory military service.

How the Partnership Started

Suga began working with the hospital in November 2024. He met with Professor Cheon Keun-ah, who treats children with mental health conditions. The professor explained that children with autism need long-term, personalized care.

“While I was preparing the program with Prof. Cheon Keun-ah and doing volunteer work, I learned how music can become a pathway for communication and self-expression,” Suga said in a statement. “It has been such a pleasure and privilege to join the journey of supporting autistic children.”

What the Center Will Do

The new center will focus on treating young patients with autism. It will offer therapy and special programs created through medical research.

The center will also support the MIND program. MIND stands for Music, Interaction, Network and Diversity. This program uses music to help autistic children communicate better and build social skills.

Suga said he wants to continue helping autistic children become full members of society.
