Low Sales Hit Samsung’s Galaxy S25 Edge, Plans for Galaxy S26 May Change

The Samsung Galaxy S25 Edge is not meeting sales expectations, according to reports from industry insiders. Samsung had hoped the slim, lightweight design of the S25 Edge would shake up its flagship lineup, but buyers don’t seem impressed.

Usually, a new phone sells well in its first three months, but the Galaxy S25 Edge, which launched at the end of May 2025, has sold fewer units than Samsung planned. As a result, the company has reportedly lowered its production targets for the device.

Samsung had been considering making the Edge the replacement for the Galaxy Plus model in next year’s Galaxy S26 series. The Plus has been the weakest seller in recent years, but now it seems the Edge might not be the solution.

For now, it’s unclear if Samsung will stick with the Edge design next year or go in a different direction. Before making that decision, Samsung is focusing on its foldable lineup. Insiders say the company will increase production of its Galaxy Z7 foldables for the U.S. market to 600,000 units this month, up from the original 400,000. This move is an attempt to avoid expected U.S. tariffs.

However, this extra focus on U.S. production could cause delays for global markets in June. Production will increase again in July to meet worldwide demand.

Samsung now faces key decisions about the future of its Galaxy lineup as it works to balance sales across its traditional smartphones and growing foldable market.
