Barcelona football star Lamine Yamal has denied rumors of a romance with Spanish influencer Fati Vázquez after social media posts suggested they might be vacationing together in Italy.
Both Yamal, 17, and Vázquez, 30, shared photos and videos from the same luxury resort. The posts showed boat rides, infinity pools, and helicopter trips, making fans believe they were spending time together.
Yamal quickly shut down the rumors. He explained that he was in Italy with some Barcelona teammates, not alone with Vázquez. He said they are just friends.
Spanish media expert Javi de Hoyos added that Vázquez may have ties to another Barcelona player, but nothing has been confirmed.
Fati Vázquez, who has over a million YouTube followers, also addressed the rumors. She criticized the negativity online and said she wants to focus on growth and happiness. Vázquez is also an author and gained support in the past for speaking about her experiences with harassment as a teenager.
Many online users criticized the situation due to the 13-year age gap between Yamal and Vázquez, pointing out that Yamal is still a minor. He turns 18 in July 2025.
Yamal’s personal life is now under a spotlight after his breakout football season, where he helped Barcelona win three trophies and impressed at Euro 2024.
Despite the speculation, both Yamal and Vázquez deny any relationship. The incident shows how young athletes often face intense public attention beyond their careers on the field.
