Sony has surprised PlayStation Plus Extra and Premium subscribers with a free game from 2024. The game, Another Crab’s Treasure, was released on April 25, 2024, and is now available at no extra cost to these subscribers.

Another Crab’s Treasure is an action-adventure “Soulslike” game developed by Aggro Crab. Players control Kril, a hermit crab who uses trash as shells to protect against enemies much larger than himself. The story follows Kril on a quest to reclaim his repossessed shell and uncover secrets about a polluted ocean.

The game has received strong reviews, including a 4.46 out of 5 rating on the PlayStation Store based on nearly 3,000 user reviews. It normally costs $29.99 on PS5, but PlayStation Plus Extra and Premium members can download it for free.

The game is only available on PS5 and not on PS4. Sony has not announced how long the game will remain free for subscribers.

PS Plus Essential subscribers, the standard tier, do not get access to this free game.

Another Crab’s Treasure adds to the lineup of free games available this May for PS Plus Extra and Premium users, offering roughly 14 to 22 hours of gameplay depending on play style and skill.
