Apple is reportedly working on multiple new Vision headsets, including a cheaper model called Vision Air, a Mac-connected Vision Pro, and even smart glasses.
Vision Pro 2 May Focus on Enterprise Use
Apple was first expected to launch a second-generation Vision Pro with a faster M5 chip by late 2025 or early 2026. However, new reports from Bloomberg’s Mark Gurman suggest Apple is changing direction.
Instead of a standalone upgrade, Apple may launch a Mac-connected Vision Pro headset. This model would stream a Mac display with ultra-low latency, useful for enterprise tasks like flight simulations or medical overlays.
It would reuse Vision Pro’s design but offer a more immersive Mac experience, rather than being a completely standalone device.
Cheaper Vision Air Coming Late 2025 or Early 2026
Apple is also working on a lighter and cheaper headset, often referred to as Vision Air. It will target regular consumers by reducing weight, cost, and neck strain.
Vision Air is expected to launch in late 2025 or early 2026 and may become the direct replacement for the current Vision Pro in Apple’s main product line. Leaked components suggest it may feature a black color option, confirming that development is well underway.
However, tariffs and component costs might limit how much Apple can cut the final retail price.
Apple Smart Glasses Could Arrive in 2026
Though full AR glasses with displays are still years away, Apple is working on lightweight smart glasses similar to Meta’s Ray-Bans.
