GTA 6 hasn’t even released yet, but fans are already thinking about where GTA 7 should take place — and many agree that Las Vegas, or Las Venturas in the GTA universe, is the perfect choice.
On Reddit, fans shared a post showing how GTA IV, V, and VI are set in fictional versions of New York, Los Angeles, and Miami. Naturally, the next step for GTA VII, they say, should be Las Venturas, Rockstar’s take on Las Vegas.

Las Venturas already appeared in GTA: San Andreas, and fans believe it could be expanded into a full game. One Redditor suggested exploring Northern San Andreas, with cities like San Fierro, Tierra Robada, and Las Venturas, then eventually returning to Los Santos as part of the storyline — similar to the structure used in Red Dead Redemption 2.
Some fans want to see a retro Las Vegas setting, ranging from the 1940s to the 1980s, filled with muscle cars, mobsters, and classic firearms. This could offer a fresh narrative style, focusing on an Italian-American mobster story, full of period-accurate details.
However, not everyone agrees. Some fans feel that going from Vice City (Miami) in GTA 6 to another warm, palm tree-filled location like Vegas might feel repetitive after decades of similar settings. They’d prefer something more urban or seasonal instead.
GTA VII is still many years away, possibly more than a decade, based on the gap between GTA V and VI. But fans are clearly already excited about what comes next.
For now, GTA 6 is set to release in May 2026, and players will get to explore Vice City and the state of Leonida.
