Billie Eilish was the top winner at the 2025 American Music Awards, taking home all seven awards she was nominated for.

The show took place in Las Vegas and was packed with star performances and emotional speeches. Eilish won Artist of the Year, Album of the Year for “Hit Me Hard and Soft,” and Song of the Year for “Birds of a Feather.” She also won Favorite Female Pop Artist, Favorite Pop Album, Favorite Pop Song, and Favorite Touring Artist.

Beyoncé also had a strong night, winning Favorite Female Country Artist and Favorite Country Album for Cowboy Carter. Eminem returned after 15 years to win two awards — Favorite Male Hip-Hop Artist and Favorite Hip-Hop Album for The Death of Slim Shady (Coup De Grâce).

Gracie Abrams won New Artist of the Year, while Lady Gaga and Bruno Mars won Collaboration of the Year and Favorite Music Video for “Die With a Smile.” Gaga also won Favorite Dance/Electronic Artist. Bruno Mars took home Favorite Male Pop Artist.

Janet Jackson received the Icon Award and gave her first televised performance in seven years. She performed some of her classic songs and gave a heartfelt speech about her love for music. “I don’t consider myself an icon. I just followed my dreams,” she said.

Rod Stewart won the Lifetime Achievement Award and closed the show with his song “Forever Young.” He was surprised when his five children came on stage to present the award. “I didn’t want to be rich or famous. I just wanted to sing,” he told the crowd.

The event was hosted by Jennifer Lopez, who opened the show with a high-energy dance medley of 23 hits from the past year.

There were several standout performances, including Blake Shelton, Gwen Stefani, Lainey Wilson, Gloria Estefan, and Becky G. The show highlighted artists across all genres, from pop to Latin to Afrobeats.

Other big winners of the night included:

  • Post Malone – Favorite Male Country Artist and Favorite Country Song
