Netflix has confirmed that an animated series based on the hit mobile game Clash of Clans is now in the works.
The show is currently in pre-production, but both Netflix and Supercell, the game’s developer, say it will bring something new and exciting for fans.
A New Kind of Clash
The series will follow a brave but clueless barbarian who must team up with a group of misfit warriors to protect their village. Along the way, they face crazy war strategies and unexpected challenges, all told with humor and action.
Supercell shared the news on social media with a fun teaser video and the message:
“Raise the flags and reinforce the walls: Clash is invading @netflix!”
A Big Move for Netflix
Netflix has been focusing more on video game adaptations in recent years. John Derderian, Netflix’s Vice President of Animation, said Clash of Clans is a perfect fit because of its global popularity, humor, and strong characters. He also praised the work of Fletcher Moules and Ron Weiner, who are helping create the show.
No Release Date Yet
There is no official release date, but the announcement shows that Netflix is continuing to invest in animated series based on video games. Past successes include Arcane, Cyberpunk: Edgerunners, Castlevania, and the upcoming Tomb Raider series.
Stay tuned for more updates as Netflix prepares to bring Clash of Clans from your phone screen to your TV screen.
