Taylor Swift and Blake Lively’s friendship has faced strain recently due to the ongoing legal drama around It Ends With Us.
Fans noticed rumors of tension between the two stars, and now insiders say supermodel Gigi Hadid—who has been close to both Swift and Lively—is quietly leaning toward Taylor Swift as the legal battle heats up.
A source told Us Weekly that Hadid “has always had a closer friendship with Taylor and stands by her.” They added that Gigi has been a loyal friend to Taylor for over ten years.
Although it may seem like Hadid has “chosen sides,” the source clarified that she has not officially taken sides in the feud. Instead, Gigi’s social calendar reflects her stronger bond with Swift.
Taylor originally introduced Gigi to Blake, but Hadid and Lively “haven’t been as close in nearly a year,” and the source assures there are “no hard feelings” between them.
This distancing became clearer after Blake Lively sued director Justin Baldoni for sexual harassment in December 2024. Baldoni responded with a $400 million countersuit.
Earlier this month, when Baldoni’s lawyers subpoenaed Swift, her team quickly stated that Taylor was never on set, not involved in casting or creative decisions, and only saw It Ends With Us weeks after its release, as she was busy with her Eras Tour.
The subpoena seems to have caused a rift. “As Taylor has started to distance herself from Blake, Gigi has naturally done the same,” the source explained, calling it a “gradual and organic change” rather than an abrupt break.
Hadid wants to avoid legal drama. The insider said she does not want to be involved in the lawsuit and hasn’t been in regular contact with Lively this year because of it. This is notable since Gigi and Blake once attended many events together, though Blake was absent from Gigi’s 30th birthday party in April.
With Lively and Baldoni set to face trial in March 2026, more subpoenas may come, and the fallout could last long after the courtroom battle ends. For now, Gigi’s decision to step back shows that in Hollywood, friendships can be fragile when legal issues arise.
