Chris Brown was arrested on May 15, 2025, in Manchester, UK, on suspicion of causing grievous bodily harm.
The arrest is linked to an alleged assault that took place on February 19, 2023, at Tape nightclub in London’s Mayfair district.
Brown was detained by police at The Lowry Hotel shortly after arriving in the country on a private jet.
The arrest is part of an ongoing investigation led by detectives from the Metropolitan Police’s Central West Area Command Unit.
The alleged victim, music producer Abe Diaw, filed a lawsuit in October 2023, claiming that Brown hit him repeatedly over the head with a Don Julio 1942 tequila bottle, then punched and stomped on him while he was on the ground.
Diaw said he suffered head injuries, torn leg ligaments, and emotional trauma that required hospitalization.
Chris Brown, 36, is currently preparing for his Breezy Bowl XX world tour, with UK dates scheduled for June and July.
His team has not yet commented on the arrest. Brown remains in custody as the investigation continues.
