Ben Affleck Surprises Fans with Open Comment on Returning as Batman

Ben Affleck recently surprised fans by suggesting that returning as Batman is “possible,” a stark contrast to his previous firm stance on leaving the role.

The actor made this comment while promoting The Accountant 2, marking a shift from his earlier remarks where he seemed to move on from the iconic superhero role.

Affleck first played Batman in the DC Extended Universe (DCEU) but distanced himself from the character after the difficult production of Justice League.

In 2019, he confirmed he wouldn’t star in The Batman, stepping away from the role entirely. However, his latest comment, “anything is possible,” has sparked fresh speculation about his return.

Currently, DC is developing two versions of Batman: Robert Pattinson’s younger Batman in The Batman and a new Batman for the DC Universe in The Brave and the Bold. Given this, Affleck’s return seems unlikely as it would complicate the existing plans for multiple Batmen.

While Affleck’s surprise comment has fans wondering, DC’s future plans for Batman remain focused on its two distinct Batmen. Superman is set to launch in 2025, while The Batman – Part II is planned for 2027.

What do you think about Affleck’s comments? Would you like to see him back as Batman? Let us know!
