Megan Thee Stallion has been granted permission to question Tory Lanez under oath as part of her ongoing lawsuit against blogger Milagro “Gramz” Cooper.

A judge ruled that Megan Thee Stallion’s legal team can depose Lanez, legal name Daystar Peterson, while he serves his prison sentence. The deposition will focus on the rapper’s claims that Cooper spread false and harmful rumors about her, allegedly acting as Lanez’s “paid surrogate.”

Megan, whose real name is Megan Pete, filed a defamation and cyberstalking lawsuit against Cooper in October 2024. She accuses the blogger of spreading lies, including claims that she faked being shot by Lanez in 2020.

According to legal reports, Megan’s attorneys want to investigate the connection between Cooper and Lanez and understand the basis for the blogger’s statements.

Tory Lanez’s Legal Team Pushes Back

While the ruling allows Megan’s team to question Lanez, his supporters are skeptical that he will cooperate. Ceasar McDowell, CEO of Unite the People, a nonprofit law firm assisting Lanez, dismissed the idea that the rapper would willingly testify. “If you know Tory Lanez how I do, good luck trying to get him to ‘testify’ to anything,” McDowell said.

Lanez is currently serving a 10-year sentence for shooting Megan Thee Stallion in 2020. He was convicted in December 2022 for assault with a semiautomatic handgun, carrying an unregistered firearm, and discharging a weapon with negligence.

Earlier this year, Megan was also granted a five-year civil restraining order against Lanez, preventing him from contacting or harassing her.

Holding Bloggers Accountable

Megan’s lawsuit against Cooper is part of her broader effort to combat misinformation. She has accused the blogger of spreading harmful claims, including sharing a fake pornographic video of her and making false statements about her personal life.

“It’s time to hold bloggers accountable for years of harassment, cyberbullying, and misinformation,” Megan said in a statement.

The trial against Cooper is expected to begin in July 2025, marking another chapter in Megan Thee Stallion’s fight against online defamation.
