A new look at MindsEye, the highly anticipated single-player game from former GTA producer Leslie Benzies and his Build A Rocket Boy studio, has been revealed.
Sony’s State of Play broadcast gave fans their first real glimpse at gameplay, along with a new cinematic trailer, confirming a summer 2025 launch for PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X/S.
This release will come just ahead of the highly anticipated GTA 6 in autumn 2025.
A Bold New Vision
Originally announced as part of Everywhere, an ambitious platform similar to Fortnite and Roblox, MindsEye has since shifted focus.
In October 2024, it was revealed that MindsEye would be published by Hitman studio IO Interactive as a standalone game, setting it apart from its original platform vision.
Leslie Benzies, who has dedicated his career to crafting immersive interactive experiences, spoke about MindsEye in a recent statement: “With MindsEye, we’ve pushed cinematic adventure to the next level – building characters and a world that feels truly alive.
We can’t wait for players to step in and feel the immersive realism and tireless effort poured into every moment of the game.”
The Story of MindsEye
MindsEye follows protagonist Jacob Diaz, who experiences fragmented flashbacks in a fictional near-future desert metropolis called Redrock.
Today’s reveal offered fans a deeper dive into the game’s narrative, setting the stage for what’s to come.
What’s Next for MindsEye?
While Everywhere was once the focus of Build A Rocket Boy, it seems that MindsEye has taken center stage, with more attention and development dedicated to it.
After Eurogamer’s visit to Build A Rocket Boy’s Edinburgh studio in early 2023, it remains to be seen how much of the earlier Everywhere project still influences MindsEye.
Fans of Benzies’ previous work on the GTA franchise are eager to see what his new venture will offer, with MindsEye poised to make a splash this summer.
