Xiaomi has officially confirmed that the global version of the highly anticipated Xiaomi 15 Series will be launched on March 2, 2025, during the Mobile World Congress (MWC 2025) in Barcelona. This marks the global debut of the Xiaomi 15 Ultra, following its initial release in China just days prior.
Ahead of the launch, Xiaomi shared an exclusive video showcasing the Xiaomi 15 Ultra, highlighting its advanced camera technology. Xiaomi’s CEO, Lei Jun, has also released additional camera samples, giving potential buyers a sneak peek at the performance of the Xiaomi SU7 Ultra Space Silver edition.
Camera Performance
The Xiaomi 15 Ultra is set to impress with its dual telephoto lenses. A series of night shots taken with the device demonstrate its remarkable optical capabilities.
The 50MP 70mm 3x mid-telephoto lens and the 200MP 100mm 4.3x periscope telephoto lens deliver sharp, detailed images even in low-light conditions. These lenses feature large apertures—f/1.8 and f/2.6—ensuring better light capture and clarity, especially in challenging environments.
Lei Jun also shared a sample image taken under complex lighting, showcasing the main camera’s impressive dynamic range.
The primary camera houses a one-inch Sony LYT-900 sensor with a 23mm f/1.6 aperture, which excels in light-handling, producing exceptional clarity and accurate color reproduction.
Design and Renders
A new set of renders of the Xiaomi 15 Ultra reveals a sleek design inspired by the Leica M11 camera color scheme.
While the official specifications are yet to be confirmed, rumors suggest that the global version of the Xiaomi 15 Ultra may feature a slightly smaller battery capacity than the Chinese variant.
With its cutting-edge camera technology and refined design, the Xiaomi 15 Ultra is shaping up to be one of the most exciting smartphone releases of 2025.
