Kendrick Lamar Super Bowl Half Time Show 2025 - DJ MUSTARD

Kendrick Lamar‘s latest album, GNX, has reclaimed the top spot on the Billboard 200, surpassing competitors like SZA and The Weeknd.

Projections from Hits Daily Double show that Lamar’s album is set to move another 230,000 units this week, bringing total sales to over one million units.

With the release of physical copies just before the Super Bowl on February 7, GNX is on track for another platinum certification.

Alongside this surge, Lamar’s earlier works are also experiencing a resurgence. Good Kid, M.A.A.D City is expected to climb to No. 11, while DAMN. is projected to land at No. 12.

The momentum from Lamar’s Super Bowl LIX halftime show, which became the most-watched in history with 133.5 million viewers, has also played a key role in driving album sales.

The Super Bowl itself saw 126 million viewers on average, with a peak of 135.7 million during the second quarter of the game.

In an interview with The Wall Street Journal, pgLang co-founder Dave Free explained the performance’s vision.

It featured appearances from SZA, Mustard, Samuel L. Jackson, and Serena Williams, and was designed to be both theatrical and cinematic.

The setlist focused on tracks from GNX, with a central message about Black America and controlling the narrative.
