Rockstar Games has confirmed that Grand Theft Auto 6 will arrive in fall 2025, but recent clues suggest we may now have a more exact date.
While no official announcement has been made, industry trends and recent game releases from Rockstar’s parent company, Take-Two Interactive, point to a likely launch in late October.
A Clue from Borderlands 4
Earlier this week, 2K Games and Gearbox revealed that Borderlands 4 will release on September 23, 2025. This matters because Take-Two owns both 2K Games and Rockstar.
It is unlikely that the company would allow two major releases to compete too closely with each other.
This suggests that GTA 6 will not launch in September, leaving October or November as the most probable months.
Why October Makes Sense
Looking at past Rockstar releases, many of the company’s biggest games have launched in October.
Additionally, November is typically when Call of Duty releases, and Take-Two would likely avoid launching GTA 6 too close to such a major franchise. Based on this, October appears to be the best window.
A particularly strong possibility is October 28, 2025, as it is the last Tuesday of the month—a common release day for Rockstar.
If this date is correct, an early access period could even bring the game out a few days earlier.
Will GTA 6 Be Delayed?
Take-Two’s CEO, Strauss Zelnick, has remained confident that GTA 6 will release in 2025. Unless something unexpected happens, the game seems on track to meet its fall release window.
However, if Rockstar needs more time, a delay into 2026 could still happen.
For now, fans eagerly waiting for GTA 6 may want to mark late October 2025 on their calendars.
If these predictions hold, players will soon be causing chaos in Vice City before the holiday season even begins.
