Rockstar Games has launched its official Discord server, and it’s already a bit of a mess.
The server, which includes channels for various Rockstar games like GTA Online and Red Dead Online, features a dedicated section for Grand Theft Auto 6—and that’s where most of the action is happening.
Fans are flocking there, eagerly speculating about the upcoming game, but things have quickly turned chaotic.
The server’s launch raised some questions about its authenticity, but it’s official. Rockstar confirmed it with a note at the bottom of the latest GTA Online update. The GTA 6 channel is especially active, with users bombarding the chat with constant speculation about trailers, release dates, and more.
Unfortunately, there’s also been a fair amount of trolling, insults, and confusion, with one user even falsely claiming that a new GTA 6 trailer had dropped, sending people scrambling to check it out.
The flood of messages has been so intense that Rockstar had to enable Slowmode, limiting posts to one every 10 minutes. With over 43,000 members online at any given moment, it’s hard to keep up with the non-stop chatter, much of which revolves around the question, “When’s the next trailer?”
As for GTA 6 itself, the game is expected to release sometime in the fall, though there’s still no official release date. While it seems possible that the new Discord presence could signal something big, given Rockstar’s cryptic nature, it’s just as likely that they’re keeping fans in suspense.
