J. Cole’s classic album 2014 Forest Hills Drive is experiencing a major comeback. After releasing a tenth-anniversary deluxe vinyl edition, sales of the album have skyrocketed by nearly 400% in just one week.
According to Luminate, the album sold over 4,750 copies in the past tracking week in the U.S. This is a massive jump from the just under 1,000 copies it sold the week before.
The surge has helped the album climb the Billboard charts, jumping from No. 32 to No. 18 on the Top R&B/Hip-Hop Albums chart and from No. 87 to No. 51 on the Billboard 200.
The vinyl edition, which includes unreleased tracks, has been a major factor in the album’s resurgence. On the Top Rap Albums chart, it re-enters at No. 14, while it also lands at No. 17 on the Top Album Sales chart.
Most notably, it breaks into the top 10 on the Vinyl Albums chart, proving its strong appeal among collectors and longtime fans.
Even after ten years, 2014 Forest Hills Drive remains one of hip-hop’s most celebrated albums. Its latest success shows that J. Cole’s influence is still as strong as ever.
