Attack on Titan Characters Watching Movies in The Theater

With Attack on Titan: The Last Attack bringing the epic anime to theaters from February 10 to 13, voice actors Bryce Papenbrook (Eren) and Trina Nishimura (Mikasa) shared their thoughts on the show’s emotional ending.

The film compiles the final two episodes and features a special post-credit scene, giving fans a chance to experience the story’s conclusion on the big screen.

An Emotional Theatrical Experience

Nishimura expressed how watching the finale together will be a “healing experience” for fans. She and many cast members plan to attend screenings, sharing the moment with audiences.

Papenbrook revealed that his wife, a longtime Attack on Titan fan, had refused to watch the final episodes at home—agreeing only if they were released in theaters. Now, she’ll finally see how Eren’s journey ends.

The Transformation of Eren Jaeger

Papenbrook reflected on Eren’s evolution, calling his decade-long arc “incredible” and “unheard of” in anime. He described how his performance changed—from an angry, impulsive teenager to a cold, terrifying figure in the final season. His dedication to realism was intense, even physically biting his hand during recording sessions to channel Eren’s pain.

Mikasa’s Evolution & the Final Goodbye

Nishimura discussed Mikasa’s emotional depth, balancing stoicism with vulnerability. She described the ending as “heartbreaking” yet necessary to honor the story.

When asked about Mikasa’s final words—“Thank you for wrapping that scarf around me, Eren”—she acknowledged how five simple words carried the weight of a decade-long journey.

Both actors praised series creator Hajime Isayama for crafting a story so intricately woven that it felt like it had been written in reverse, ensuring every moment was purposeful.

Attack on Titan: The Last Attack releases globally in theaters from February 10 to 13, 2025.
