Netflix Korea’s upcoming original series, “When Life Gives You Tangerines,” starring IU and Park Bo-gum, will be released in four parts over four weeks, starting on March 7.
The drama follows the adventurous life of Ae-soon, a rebellious woman born in Jeju (played by IU), and Gwan-sik, a devoted yet naive man (played by Park Bo-gum).
The series beautifully tracks their growth and radiant moments throughout the four seasons, capturing both their differences and shared adventures.
Netflix also released the first set of teaser stills, showcasing Ae-soon in a school uniform with a sulky expression, while Gwan-sik gazes at her, hinting at their dynamic relationship. These images set the tone for the drama’s engaging storytelling.
The series will be split into four-episode batches, with the first batch releasing on March 7, followed by March 14, March 21, and March 28. With a 16-episode run, the show promises a deep dive into the four seasons of life.
Bae Jong-byung, Senior Director of Netflix’s Series Division, explained the release strategy: “The director and writer envisioned ‘When Life Gives You Tangerines’ as a story unfolding in four acts, and we wanted viewers to experience it that way.”
The unique release approach aims to maximize viewer enjoyment while staying true to the creators’ vision.
