2025 is shaping up to be a big year for flagship smartphones. While Samsung’s Galaxy S25 Ultra has dominated the headlines, Asus is about to make its move with the upcoming Zenfone 12 Ultra.

Scheduled for an official launch on February 6, 2025, leaks have already revealed a powerful set of specs that position it as a serious contender in the premium Android market.

Powerful Display & Performance

The Zenfone 12 Ultra is expected to feature a 6.78-inch display with a 2400×1080 resolution and a 120Hz refresh rate (which can reach 144Hz for supported games).

Under the hood, it will be powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Elite chipset, paired with up to 16GB LPDDR5X RAM and 512GB UFS 4.0 storage for high-speed performance.

Camera Upgrades & AI Features

For photography, the phone will include a 50MP Sony Lytia 700 sensor with gimbal Optical Image Stabilization (OIS), ensuring stable shots even in motion. Additional cameras include:
13MP ultra-wide lens (120-degree field of view)
32MP telephoto camera (3x optical zoom)
32MP front camera for sharp selfies

The phone will run Android 15 out of the box, featuring new AI enhancements for photos and videos.

Battery & Charging

A 5,500mAh battery will keep the Zenfone 12 Ultra powered, slightly smaller than the ROG Phone 9 Pro’s 5,800mAh cell. However, it will still support 65W wired fast charging and 15W wireless charging.

A Flagship With a Headphone Jack

One of the biggest surprises is the inclusion of a 3.5mm headphone jack—a rarity in modern flagship smartphones. The design appears similar to the ROG Phone 9 Pro but with a smaller camera module and no mini-LED matrix on the back.

Pricing & Availability

While official pricing remains unknown, the wait won’t be long. Asus will officially unveil the Zenfone 12 Ultra on February 6, 2025.

With its flagship performance, high-end cameras, and a headphone jack, this could be one of the most unique premium smartphones of the year.
