James Gunn Clears Up Superman CGI Confusion in New Trailer

After the release of the latest Superman trailer, some fans speculated that CGI was used on David Corenswet’s face during a flying scene.

In response, director James Gunn addressed the concerns, stating that there was “absolutely zero CG in his face.”

Gunn explained that the difference in appearance was due to the wide-angle lens used in the shot, not CGI.

He further clarified that the background shot in Svalbard and Corenswet’s performance were both 100% real.

This clarification comes after past issues with CGI in DC films, such as the infamous removal of Henry Cavill’s mustache in 2017’s Justice League.

Gunn’s comments reassure fans that the Superman flying scene in the trailer is largely practical, though more footage is expected to be released as the movie’s release approaches.
