YouTube Premium users are getting a chance to try out a variety of new experimental features, with the added benefit of testing multiple features simultaneously. The latest experiments include audio enhancements and expanded viewing options for iOS users.
Subscribers can now opt into experiments such as 256kbps bitrate audio for videos, as well as new features for iOS devices, including the ability to view YouTube Shorts in picture-in-picture mode and automatically download recommended Shorts for offline viewing.
Additionally, the AI-powered skipping feature, which jumps to the most-watched part of a video, is now available on web browsers after its initial mobile launch last year.
YouTube is also working on expanded playback options for mobile devices, allowing users to increase video speed by up to four times. While the exact release date for this feature is unclear, it is expected to arrive “soon.”
In addition to these features, YouTube is offering a limited-time deal that reduces the cost of YouTube Premium when bundled with Google One Premium plans.
Subscribers who purchase plans starting at $9.99 per month for 2TB of cloud storage will save $2 per month on YouTube Premium, bringing the price back to 2023 levels.
These new experiments and offers provide YouTube Premium users with even more ways to enhance their experience while saving money.
