Gemini app users on Android and iOS can now access the 2.0 Experimental Advanced model, a feature that was previously only available on the desktop and mobile website.
This new update follows the introduction of Gemini Advanced in mid-December, allowing subscribers to experience improved performance in tasks like coding, math, reasoning, and instruction following.
The 2.0 Experimental Advanced model offers significant enhancements for complex tasks, such as solving mathematical problems, tackling coding challenges, or providing detailed instructions.
However, it does not have access to real-time information and lacks some Gemini features, such as file upload capabilities.
Gemini 2.0 Experimental Advanced joins other models like 1.5 Flash, 1.5 Pro, and 2.0 Flash Experimental. Users can switch models using the model switcher at the top of the screen. If the update isn’t visible, Android users can force stop the Gemini app, while iOS users received an update today.
To access Gemini Advanced, users need a Google One AI Premium subscription, priced at $19.99 per month. It remains unclear whether Gemini-Exp-1206 will be released as Gemini 2.0 Pro or another model above 2.0 Flash.
